How should phosgene test paper be used?
Date: 2021-08-17Read: 14
Phosgene is a colorless or slightly yellow gas (industrial products are usually liquefied light yellow liquids), which has a strong pungent or suffocating odor when concentrated. Phosgene test paper is an indicator mark for personal phosgene exposure dose used for medical rescue.
Haifuda acts as an agent for Compur phosgene test paper/phosgene indicator strip/phosgene dosage seal (100 pieces) imported from Germany, model: C7X572121.
The hazards of phosgene include the following:
(1) The phosgene dose chapter can indicate the total amount of phosgene exposure (phosgene concentration+time) that a person receives in a phosgene environment, and the amount of inhaled phosgene exposure depends on specific environmental conditions (respiratory pressure, protection, etc.). Therefore, the inhaled amount should be less than the exposed dose, but the inhaled dose must be based on the exposure dose reference.
(2) In the case of excessive concentration of phosgene, the eyes, nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract will be strongly stimulated.
(3) According to the inhalation dose of phosgene ≥ 50ppm/min, it will produce serious effects in the respiratory tract; Exceeding 150ppm/min can cause pulmonary edema, blisters, and so on; If it exceeds 300PPM/minute, death will occur within 24-30 hours.
How should phosgene test paper be used?
Clip the phosgene seal onto the collar of the work uniform near the breathing area. The Hui chapter contains reaction test strips, and the other side of the test strips is covered with filter paper (diffusion paper) in the display area.
If there is phosgene present, it will change from yellow to brick red. According to the concentration and exposure time of phosgene, the color will deepen (a standard color card is provided with the product as a reference for the medical department)
If exposed to hydrogen chloride (HCL) gas or other pollutants, the sensitivity of the test paper will decrease and must be replaced with a new test paper.
It is best to replace the test paper and filter paper (diffusion paper) after wearing them for three days.
The dosage of phosgene is very useful for personnel exposed to phosgene environment, so careful protection should be taken.
