Tunnel boring machine (TBM) is a highly efficient comprehensive equipment that integrates excavation, slag removal, and support due to its high degree of mechanization, intelligence, informatization, and automation. It has become the mainstream of large and long tunnel excavation construction and has played an important role in the excavation of ultra long distances, ultra large burial depths, cross basin and even cross ocean tunnels. During the excavation process of a tunnel boring machine (TBM), it is necessary for the two rear vehicles to maintain a corresponding distance and follow up in real time, as well as for other materials to follow up in a timely manner. However, due to the harsh construction environment of the tunnel, it is easily affected by factors such as excavation distance, construction noise, braking, and light during construction. How to ensure safe and efficient excavation and transportation has become a pain point and difficulty in tunnel safety management. A tunnel excavation in Dali, Yunnan also encountered the same problem. Therefore, we propose a long-distance warning and collision avoidance device solution.
The Beijing Huaxing Intelligent Control UWB Ranging and Collision Avoidance System is a high-precision long-distance real-time ranging and collision avoidance solution based on the principle of wireless pulse ranging. It can measure 360 degrees * accurately, with an accuracy of generally up to 10 centimeters. By sending and receiving wireless pulse signals between base stations, a more accurate distance can be obtained. The alarm distance can be preset. When the distance between construction vehicles is less than the warning distance, the system will link the sound and light alarm to issue an alarm. The alarm content of the sound and light alarm can be set according to the on-site situation. In this way, it can effectively prevent collision problems during the transportation of construction vehicles.

The system has high data transmission rate (up to 1Gbit/s), strong anti-interference ability, low power consumption, low cost, strong penetration ability, and long coverage distance (generally up to 500 meters), making it extremely suitable for effective distance management of construction vehicles and personnel in harsh environments such as tunnel construction. For construction vehicles, a set of anti-collision equipment (HXZK-FZ) should be installed on each vehicle and on the portal frame during the journey. The equipment includes directional antennas, positioning base stations, sound and light alarms, displays, etc. The base station transmits and receives wireless pulse signals through the antenna, and calculates the precise distance through the internal chip. When the distance is less than the set alarm distance, the sound and light alarm will sound an alarm. This monitor can display the distance and movement speed of the other base station from itself, and each base station has a unique ID number to identify the name. Through the display screen, the driver can accurately determine whether the other station is a locomotive or a gantry. Pre set the warning distance and alarm distance. When two collision prevention base stations are less than the warning distance, the sound and light alarm will issue intermittent alarms to remind the locomotive driver to slow down. When it is less than the alarm distance, a continuous alarm signal will be issued to remind the locomotive driver to stop and the construction personnel to avoid.
