The market for high-definition video optical transceivers is vast
Date: 2013-08-06Read: 3

Faced with the rapid development of high-definition technology in the security industry, as an important part of video surveillance that cannot be ignored, the market development of high-definition optical transceivers will also be bright. For optical transceiver manufacturers, it is imperative to adapt to market demand and adjust their development strategies in a timely manner. The high-definition optical transceiver market is vast, and the future development prospects of the industry are unlimited.

The market for high-definition video optical transceivers is vast

The calls and slogans such as' let's see more clearly 'and' give people a clear world 'are also increasing day by day. This is human nature, and people's pursuit of high bandwidth is endless, reflecting a demand and trend. With the continuous development of video surveillance technology, high-definition has become one of the leading directions in the development of video surveillance technology.

Although the application of high-definition optical transceivers is still relatively rare in current video transmission systems, and there are only a few manufacturers with relevant technologies, with the continuous demand for high-definition, the application of high-definition optical transceivers will become more and more common. In the next few years, high-definition will also become the standard for mainstream optical transceiver products. And optical transceiver manufacturers who are proactive and take the lead will occupy the first mover advantage in the market.

At present, the application of high-definition products is flourishing, and there are two main technical routes for high-definition video surveillance solutions in the market: IP based network high-definition and HD-SDI based real-time high-definition. HD-SDI high-definition achieves true real-time high-definition by directly transmitting uncompressed video signals through coaxial cables or optical fibers. HD-SDI high-definition is increasingly widely used in various fields due to its ability to provide richer image details, smoothly upgrade from traditional standard definition video surveillance systems to high-definition video surveillance systems, and real-time, standardized, high security and confidentiality, and high reliability.

High definition optical transceiver market trend

The development direction is still to tirelessly pursue: single fiber high-capacity, multi service, network management type comprehensive platform.

From a technical perspective:

1、 Reuse technology will still be mainstream

The high-speed digital fiber transmission technology, uncompressed high-definition digital video technology, and high-definition video and audio encoding technology used in high-definition optical transceivers are all manifestations of the characteristics of high-definition optical transceivers. The quality of high-definition video signals remains the same no matter how many times they are transmitted or converted, which is the inherent characteristic of digital signals. However, high-definition video signals have high speed and occupy a large bandwidth. The HD-SDI signal rate is 1.485Gb/s, the 3G-SDI signal rate is 2.97Gb/s, and HDMI supports 4.95Gb/s and 10.2Gb/s. How to transmit multiple high-definition videos on a single optical fiber is currently the most popular technology hotspot for high-definition optical transceivers. It can be said that the level of single fiber single band multiplexing technology can basically represent the research and development capabilities and technical level of an optical transceiver manufacturer.

2、 Multi service * enables the transmission of comprehensive services such as asynchronous data, audio, switch quantity, Ethernet, etc. while achieving high-definition video transmission. This is also one of the hotspots that high-definition optical transceivers have attracted much attention to. Currently, there are mainly two ways to achieve this: wavelength division multiplexing and time division multiplexing. Time division multiplexing technology is difficult, combining multiple signals such as video, audio, data, Ethernet, etc. into a single higher rate data stream, and correctly decomposing each data stream at the receiving end. So, it is necessary to handle high-definition video, clock synchronization between various interface services, as well as clock timing and frame structure relationships between each other.
