After purchasing and before using fire air respirators, the following inspections must be carried out:
1. Check the full face mask. Damaged face shields and eyepieces are strictly prohibited from use.
2. Check the gas cylinder pressure residual gas alarm. Open the gas cylinder valve to check the storage pressure. If it is lower than 80% of the rated pressure, it cannot be used. 3. Wear the face mask so that it fits well with the face, and the face should feel comfortable without obvious tenderness.
4. Take 2-3 deep breaths and check the airtightness of the fire air breathing apparatus pipeline. Good airtightness, open the gas cylinder valve, and only when the human body can breathe normally can it be put into use.
After using the fire air respirator, it must be restored to its pre use technical state as soon as possible according to the following requirements:
1. Clean the dirt and check for any damage.
2. Inflate the air bottle.
3. Wash the elastic membrane of the face mask, exhalation valve, and gas supply regulator with neutral disinfectant (do not use disinfectant containing bicarbonate). Finally, rinse in clean water to allow it to self ignite and dry, and do not bake or expose to direct sunlight.
4. According to the preparation requirements before use, conduct an air tightness test on the fire air respirator.
Fire air respirators must be inspected regularly, with inspections organized by the headquarters once a year, the branch once a quarter, the squadron once a month, and the shift once a week. The detachment shall calibrate the fire air breathing apparatus every six months. The main items for regular inspections are:
1. The lenses, straps, ring seals, exhalation valves, inhalation valves, air supply valves, and other components of the full face mask should be intact and functional, connected correctly and reliably, and clean without dirt.
2. The gas cylinder pressure gauge is working properly and securely connected.
3. The straps and waistband are intact and without any breakage.
4. The gas cylinder is firmly connected to the bracket and various components, and the pipeline is well sealed.
5. The pressure of the gas cylinder is generally 28-30MPa. When the pressure is below 24MPa, it must be inflated.
6. Whole machine airtightness inspection: Turn on the gas cylinder switch, wait for high-pressure air to fill the pipeline, then turn off the gas cylinder switch, observe the pressure gauge changes, and the pressure gauge value should not decrease by more than 4MPa within 5 minutes. If it exceeds 4MPa, it is considered unqualified.
7. Inspection of residual gas alarm: Turn on the gas cylinder switch, wait for high-pressure air to fill the pipeline, then turn off the gas cylinder switch and observe the pressure change. When the pressure gauge value drops to 4-6MPa, an alarm sound should be emitted and the alarm should continue until the pressure gauge value is "0". Exceeding this standard is considered unqualified.
8. Matching inspection of air supply valve and full face cover.
