Regarding the installation of fire doors, a single fire door may not necessarily achieve the desired effect. Having a dedicated installation team is crucial. The installation of fire doors should be smooth during the opening and closing process. The installation of fire doors must comply with regulations. The following are the precautions to be taken when installing fire doors:
1. The opening direction does not meet the requirements and has not been opened towards the evacuation direction.
2. The fire resistance limit of the fireproof door does not meet the requirements, and according to the design requirements, a Class B fireproof door or a Class C fireproof door should be installed instead.
3. Less or no door closers are installed. Fire doors located in passages and stairwells must be equipped with door closers. Without door closers, the requirement of being normally closed cannot be achieved.
4. Install fewer hardware accessories. According to the size of the fire door, larger fire doors should have three hinges installed on one leaf, some only have two, some only have one hinge, and those with four screw holes on a single page only have two screws installed, which reduces the fixing strength.
5. The middle seam is large, the two sides are connected, and the separation is not strict, which makes it easy to pass smoke and does not play a role in fire separation.
6. The distance from the ground is too high, and according to regulations, the distance between the inner door and the ground should be controlled within the range of 6-8mm, while some fire doors can be as high as 30-40mm.
7. The door gap is specified as 1.5-2.5mm, with some up to 5mm.
8. The steel door frame should be filled with cement mortar or rock wool, some of which are not filled during installation and the interior is empty.
9. According to regulations, swing doors are not allowed to be used for fire doors. Some intentionally switch to swing doors, and even use fire-resistant glass to make swing doors, which does not comply with regulations and does not serve the purpose of fire separation.
10. The holes on the side or above the fireproof door are not sealed.
11. There are ventilation ducts above or on the side of the fire door without fire dampers.
12. The cracked and uneven door leaf is also considered as a qualified fireproof door for installation.
13. Construction units make their own door frames and purchase fire-resistant door leaves for installation. Some even have door frames that do not match the door leaves, without sealing grooves or fire-resistant sealing strips, and the frames and door leaves are uneven.
14. Self made fire doors have no production standards and have not undergone national testing.
15. There are ordinary doors and windows next to the fireproof door.
16. Install non fire resistant hardware accessories and door locks.
17. Poor opening and closing performance, firstly due to broken door closers, and secondly due to poor installation quality, incorrect installation angle of door closers, and loose hinges.
18. Some fireproof doors have fewer fireproof sealing strips installed.
19. The gap between the newly installed fireproof door frame and the wall is not sealed.
20. Currently, most fire doors are not equipped with sequencers (referring to hinged doors).
21. Add a decorative layer outside the fireproof door.
22. Some fire-resistant glass is broken, while others are installed with ordinary glass. If the glass area of the fire-resistant door exceeds the specified area, larger glass (not a fire-resistant door that has been tested and approved by the National Fire Products Testing Center) should be installed.
23. Failure to install fire doors in accordance with fire safety review opinions, design drawings, and regulatory requirements (such as installing fire doors on the first floor or above of high-rise buildings, but not on the first floor).
