What are the precautions for wearing an air respirator
Date: 2022-02-17Read: 14
Air breathing apparatus is a self-contained open breathing apparatus used by fire trucks and emergency rescue personnel to safely and effectively carry out firefighting, emergency rescue, and medical work in environments with thick smoke, toxic gas, oxygen deficiency, or toxic substances.
Before using a respirator for the first time, it is necessary to pay attention to the model of the gas cylinder being configured. In the future, when installing gas cylinders of the same diameter, the circular size of the cylinder fixing strap can be extended or shortened by opening or closing the tightening buckle, and the length of the cylinder fixing strap no longer needs to be readjusted.
Before wearing the air respirator, you need to undergo the following tests. If the test passes, you can use it with confidence:
1. Check the gas cylinder. Check that the pressure gauge pointer of the gas cylinder is within the green grid, and that all components of the respirator are intact. Wear the respirator as required, with half of the mask attached to the face, and adjust the headband.
2. Mask leak detection. Place your palm on the air intake mechanism of the mask and inhale, then hold your breath for a few seconds. The mask should be attached to your face and held still for a period of time to prove that there is no leakage. If the mask slides, it indicates a leak. Adjust the headband and retest until there is no leakage.
3. Respiratory pressure measurement. (1) Open the valve of the gas cylinder and ensure that the pressure gauge pointer on the chest is within the green grid. (2) Pull the supply valve out of the waist fastener and insert it into the mechanism on the mask. If you hear a "click" sound, it indicates that the supply valve is connected to the mask in place. (3) Take a quick deep breath to activate and open the breathing valve. Repeat breathing 12 times to check air flow. (4) When you quickly turn the red knob to open, you will feel an increase in air flow.
