Can the impact exposure time of the cold and hot shock test chamber be done for 10 minutes
The impact exposure time of the cold and hot shock test chamber (i.e. the holding time of the sample in high or low temperature environment) can be set to 10 minutes, but it needs to be reasonably determined according to specific standards, sample characteristics, and test purposes.
The setting of exposure time should follow relevant standards and consider the characteristics of the sample. There are differences in the regulations on exposure time among different standards. For example, GJB150.5 specifies a lower limit of 1 hour. If the sample temperature stabilization time is less than 1 hour, it needs to be maintained for 1 hour, and if it is greater than 1 hour, the actual stabilization time should be used; GB2423.22 provides multiple time levels ranging from 10 minutes to 3 hours, and similar levels can be selected based on the measured temperature stabilization time; 810F method 503.4 directly uses the time to reach temperature stability or the actual exposure time of the product.
For a duration of 10 minutes, it meets the requirements of the * low time level in GB2423.22 standard, so it is feasible under this standard.
At the same time, the exposure time should ensure that the sample temperature is sufficiently uniform and stable. It is generally recommended not to be less than 15 minutes (commonly ranging from 15-30 minutes), but if the sample has a small thermal capacity, fast thermal conductivity, or low stress requirements for testing, 10 minutes may be sufficient; It should be noted that a short exposure time may lead to insufficient thermal stress, affecting the effectiveness of the experiment, while a long exposure time may waste resources.
Equipment performance and conversion time are also key factors. The temperature transition time (i.e. the time required to switch from the high temperature zone to the low temperature zone) of the cold and hot shock test chamber is usually short, generally requiring ≤ 15 seconds, and the temperature recovery time is ≤ 5 minutes. The equipment needs to have the ability to quickly switch to simulate a real temperature sudden change environment.
If the exposure time is set to 10 minutes, it is necessary to ensure that the conversion time is much shorter than the exposure time (such as controlled within a few seconds) to avoid interference with temperature stability during the conversion process. At the same time, parameters should be adjusted according to equipment specifications and sample characteristics to avoid temperature rate exceeding the rated range of the equipment
