Monoclonal antibodies are composed of a single moleculeB cell clones produce highly uniform antibodies that only target a specific antigenic epitope. Usually, hybridoma technology is used for preparation. Hybridoma antibody technology is based on cell fusion technology, which fuses sensitized B cells with the ability to secrete specific antibodies and myeloma cells with unlimited proliferation ability to form B cell hybridomas.

By culturing a single hybridoma cell with this characteristic into a cell population, specific antibodies against an antigenic epitope, namely monoclonal antibodies, can be prepared. Antigens refer to substances that can stimulate the body to produce (specific) immune responses, and can bind with immune response products such as antibodies and sensitized lymphocytes in vitro to produce immune effects (specific reactions).

Antibody(Antibody refers to a protein that has a protective effect produced by the body due to the stimulation of antigens. It (immunoglobulin is not just an antibody) is a large Y-shaped protein secreted by plasma cells (effector B cells) and used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign substances such as bacteria, viruses, etc. It is only found in the blood and other body fluids of vertebrates, as well as on the cell membrane surface of their B cells. Antibodies can recognize a unique feature of a specific foreign object, which is called an antigen.

There are two basic characteristics of antigens,

One is the ability to induce immune response, which is immunogenicity,

The second is to react with the products of immune response, that is, antigenicity.

Many substances can become antigens, and the specific classification of antigens can be found in antigens. In the process of preparing monoclonal antibodies, many substances can become antigens. In routine scientific experiments, researchers often use each mouse as an antigen/Rats are injected with 10-50ug of recombinant protein, conjugated peptides, conjugated small molecules, etc. as antigens to produce specific monoclonal antibodies.
