Infrared flame detector is a fire detection device based on infrared spectroscopy technology, which plays a key role in the field of fire warning, especially suitable for scenarios with high requirements for rapid response and adaptability to complex environments.
Applicable scenarios
Industrial sites, such as petrochemical plants, gas boiler rooms, paint workshops, etc., are prone to the combustion of flammable and explosive substances. Infrared flame detectors can quickly respond to initial fires. ​
Storage facilities: Large warehouses (especially those storing flammable materials), logistics centers, etc., can promptly detect fires caused by spontaneous combustion of goods or external sources of fire. ​
Public places: theaters, sports halls, exhibition halls, and other open spaces can compensate for the shortcomings of traditional detectors in responding to large areas. ​
Special environments: places with good ventilation or rapid smoke diffusion, such as tunnels and underground garages, as well as high-temperature environments (such as metallurgical workshops), can all play a stable detection role.
Installation points
Installation position: The installation height and angle should be determined based on the flame characteristics of the detection target. It is usually recommended to install it above or to the side where the flame may appear, to ensure that the detector's field of view is not obstructed (such as avoiding being blocked by shelves or equipment). ​
Distance control: Reasonably arrange according to the detection radius of the detectors, and the coverage range of adjacent detectors should overlap to avoid blind spots in monitoring. ​
Avoid interference sources: stay away from strong infrared radiation sources (such as high-temperature furnaces and high-power lamps), and avoid installing in locations with strong air flow (such as air vents) to prevent affecting signal stability. ​
Wiring specifications: Strictly follow the product manual for electrical wiring, ensure stable power supply voltage, secure signal line connection, and avoid false alarms or failures caused by poor contact.
Maintenance and upkeep
Regular cleaning: Check the surface of the detector monthly for dust and oil stains. If there are any, wipe them with a dry soft cloth in a timely manner to prevent interference with infrared signal reception. ​
Functional testing: Conduct a simulated fire test once every quarter (such as using specialized testing tools to release specific wavelength infrared signals) to verify whether the detector's alarm response is normal. ​
Circuit inspection: Check the wiring terminals annually for looseness and aging, and ensure good insulation performance of the circuit to ensure reliable electrical connections. ​
Environmental assessment: Regularly evaluate whether the installation environment has changed (such as new obstructions or interference sources), and adjust the detector position or parameters according to the actual situation.
