The main functions of road surveillance cameras are threefold
Date: 2017-10-11Read: 3

If the function of the eyes is to see, then the function of road surveillance cameras is to monitor target objects such as vehicles, drivers, pedestrians, and signs in motion on the traffic road, and requires 24-hour uninterrupted operation. On the basis of endurance requirements, it is also necessary to be able to capture real-time and clear feature information of target objects (such as license plates, colors, face shapes, contours, shapes, etc.). In summary, the main functions of road surveillance cameras are as follows: "watching", "recording", and "recording".

  1、 Road condition monitoring
The front-end camera transmits real-time images of the monitored area back to the traffic command center through transmission lines. Traffic command personnel can grasp the traffic conditions of each intersection and section in real time, such as pedestrian and vehicle flow, signal status, motor vehicle violations, and traffic accidents. These pieces of information can help traffic management departments take appropriate measures and contingency plans in a timely manner, and through broadcasting and television media and front traffic guidance display screens, timely release information to inform road drivers and pedestrians, and carry out effective traffic guidance.
  2、 Real time recording
The video images transmitted to the traffic command center will be automatically saved to the video server as evidence for handling various emergencies such as traffic accidents, motor vehicle violations, and public security incidents.
  3、 Information collection
According to specific monitoring requirements, specialized feature information (such as license plates, colors, face shapes, contours, shapes, operating status, etc.) of target objects such as vehicles, drivers, pedestrians, and signs in motion on traffic roads is collected and provided to control software or equipment for analysis and processing. Analysis decision plans and processing plans are output according to set algorithms, and the entire system can be automatically controlled for linkage processing. On the basis of effectively obtaining real-time and clear image information, many intelligent electronic devices and control systems based on video images have been derived, such as electronic police, road checkpoints, video detection, license plate recognition, facial recognition, automatic control, and so on.
