Proper use of HYAT oil filled communication cables can effectively improve their reliability
Date: 2025-06-10Read: 26
HYAT oil filled communication cable is a commonly used cable for communication transmission, with specific structural and performance characteristics. When using HYAT oil filled communication cables, the following precautions should be taken to ensure stable cable performance, extend service life, and ensure communication quality:
1. Precautions for laying
Avoid mechanical damage:
During installation, prevent the cable from being scratched or excessively compressed by sharp objects to avoid damaging the sheath and shielding layer.
When laying pipelines, directly buried or overhead, suitable traction equipment should be used to avoid excessive tension causing cable deformation.
Bending radius limit:
The minimum bending radius of the cable should be ≥ 15 times the outer diameter of the cable (static laying) or ≥ 20 times the outer diameter of the cable (dynamic laying) to prevent damage to the internal structure.
Avoid high temperature environments:
The laying environment temperature should not be lower than -10 ℃ (cables become hard and easily damaged at low temperatures), and the high temperature environment should not exceed+70 ℃.
2. Waterproof and moisture-proof management
Keep the filling paste intact:
The cable ends and joints must be strictly sealed to prevent the loss of petroleum paste or the infiltration of moisture.
If any leakage of filling grease is found, it should be repaired in a timely manner to avoid affecting the waterproof performance.
Laying in damp environment:
When laying directly buried or underground pipelines, it is necessary to ensure good drainage in the cable trench and avoid long-term immersion in water.
3. Electrical connection and grounding
Shielding layer grounding:
The aluminum-plastic composite sheath (A structure) must be reliably grounded to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and ensure signal transmission quality.
The grounding resistance should be ≤ 4 Ω (according to engineering requirements).
Joint processing:
Cable joints should use waterproof joint boxes and ensure good sealing to prevent moisture from entering.
4. Operation and maintenance requirements
Regular inspection:
Check whether the outer sheath of the cable is damaged or aged, and whether the filling grease leaks.
Test the insulation resistance and transmission performance of the cable to ensure compliance with standards (such as YD/T 322-2013).
Avoid overload:
The working voltage and current of the cable shall not exceed the rated value to prevent overheating from affecting its service life.
5. Storage and transportation
Storage environment:
It should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature environments.
When stored for a long time, the cable ends should be sealed to prevent the grease from oxidizing or getting damp.
Transportation protection:
Avoid severe vibrations and impacts during transportation to prevent damage to the protective sheath.
6. Special environmental response
Direct burial laying:
Protective plates (such as concrete slabs or warning tapes) need to be laid above the cables to prevent mechanical damage.
Overhead laying:
Suitable hooks or brackets should be used to avoid fatigue fracture of cables caused by wind swing.
7. Fault handling
If water ingress, insulation degradation, or transmission abnormalities are found in the cable, the fault point should be promptly identified and repaired or replaced.
Following the above precautions can effectively improve the reliability of HYAT oil filled communication cables and ensure long-term stable operation.
