Environmentally friendly low smoke halogen-free cable technology
Date: 2020-08-27Read: 5

Environmentally friendly low smoke halogen-free cableCables that can pass the ULzui high flame retardant standard should use extruders with lower screw compression ratios due to the high amount of additives in the cable material and high melt viscosity. The shear rate of ordinary single screw extruders is low, and their mixing ability is poor; The twin-screw extruder has a high mixing capacity, but when processing high filling low smoke halogen-free flame-retardant wire and cable materials, problems such as material decomposition and discoloration often occur due to excessive shearing. Therefore, a single-stage mixing extruder combining single screw and twin-screw is selected, and a reciprocating single screw mixer is currently an ideal equipment for processing low smoke halogen-free flame-retardant wire and cable materials.

In addition to selecting a suitable extruder, the processing technology should also be reasonable. If the temperature is too high, the additives will decompose, causing the product to have pores; Low temperature can cause poor plasticization. The body pressure should be minimized as much as possible, and the screw speed should not be too high. Under the condition of ensuring sufficient plasticization of the material, the extrusion temperature should be appropriately reduced. The processing technology of environmentally friendly low smoke halogen-free cables should be adjusted according to different materials and formulas. Before material extrusion processing, it is necessary to perform drying treatment to prevent the formation of pores on the cross-section of the product. When two cables are laid in parallel, the safe current carrying capacity of the cables will change. When two cables are used together, their safe current carrying capacity should be 0.92 times the original current carrying capacity.
