Will temperature affect the lifespan of explosion-proof distribution boxes?

Explosion proof distribution boxes operating in hot summer days may sometimes exceed a temperature of 60 ℃ due to direct sunlight, reflection of heat from cement floors, and the heat generated by the equipment inside the cabinet. The combination of the heat generated inside and outside the cabinet can be fatal to the service life of explosion-proof distribution boxes.

Firstly, high temperatures can affect the stability, reliability, and measurement accuracy of components in explosion-proof distribution boxes;

Secondly, high temperatures can cause insulation aging of electrical coils and leads, leading to breakdown and burnout;

Thirdly, high temperatures can increase the contact resistance of electrical contacts, leading to intensified heating and ultimately causing the contacts to burn out.

So, the following analysis is made regarding its issues:

1. Spray insulation coating inside the explosion-proof distribution box to reduce the temperature inside the body. Alternatively, explosion-proof positive pressure cabinets can be used as alternative products to explosion-proof distribution boxes, which can solve the problem of heat dissipation.

2. Install heat sinks on the back of the explosion-proof distribution box near the heating element to achieve heat dissipation and extend the service life of the distribution cabinet.

3. Increase the margin of the connecting wires in the explosion-proof distribution box to avoid excessive heat generation due to equipment overload, which may affect the service life.

4. During installation, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation and choose places that avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.
