Application of pressure transmitter in constant pressure water supply

We use tap water every day in our daily lives, and the supply method of tap water is generally constant pressure water supply. This method is also widely used in areas such as sewage pumping stations, sewage treatment, and building water supply. Constant pressure water supply can maintain a constant water supply pressure, achieving the goal of supplying more water when users use more water and less water when they use less. If the water pressure cannot be kept constant, it may cause some equipment to malfunction.

<1> Three types of pressure measuring instruments for constant pressure water supply

The first type: remote pressure gauge
Remote pressure gauge is a traditional mechanical pressure gauge.

Advantages: Affordable price
Disadvantages: The overall accuracy is generally ± 1.5%, and the accuracy is not high; Poor seismic resistance

Second type: diffusion silicon pressure transmitter
The diffusion silicon pressure transmitter adopts international advanced technology, coupled with high-precision electronic components, and is assembled through strict process requirements. Pressure transmitters are used for pipeline pressure testing and feedback signals（The stability of pressure transmitters is particularly important, and it is recommended to choose the P300 series）

The diffusion silicon pressure transmitter has a small volume, light weight, can be equipped with a display, good working stability, and a comprehensive accuracy of generally 0.5 level.
Comparing the accuracy of remote pressure gauges and diffusion silicon pressure transmitters, it can be seen that although mechanical remote pressure gauges are cheap, their accuracy is low. The diffusion silicon pressure transmitter has reliable operation, stable performance, and more accurate measurement. Due to its high cost-effectiveness, it has a large market share and is widely used in various fields.

Third type: Electric contact pressure gauge
The electric contact pressure gauge consists of a measuring system, an indicating system, a magnetic assisted electric contact device, a housing, an adjusting device, and a junction box (plug socket).

This type of pressure gauge can not only be used to measure pressure, but is also often used in conjunction with relays and frequency converters. When it comes into contact with the contact (upper or lower limit) on the set pointer (dynamic disconnection or dynamic connection), it causes the circuit in the control system to be disconnected or connected, achieving the purpose of automatic control and sending alarm signals. When the frequency converter cannot function and the water pressure is too high, the electric contact pressure gauge will turn off the circuit.

<2>How to operate or set constant pressure water supply?

Example: The operating requirements are: constant pressure water supply with an upper limit pressure of 1.0Mpa and a lower limit pressure of 0.001Mpa

Firstly, set the parameters of the frequency converter, start the frequency converter, and the water pump motor will start working. The pressure in the pipeline will increase accordingly, starting from the lower limit pressure of 0.001Mpa. The pressure transmitter will start to feedback the pressure signal to the frequency converter. When the pressure in the pipeline network reaches the upper limit pressure of 1.0Mpa, the frequency converter works according to the set parameters, thereby maintaining the current working state and stable pressure of the water pump motor. When the pressure transmitter detects a signal exceeding the upper limit pressure of 1.0Mpa, the frequency converter will operate towards the lower limit frequency until the upper limit pressure is reached to maintain pipeline pressure balance. The frequency converter signal during this process will be synchronously displayed on the external controller (central control room), and the operator can monitor the working status of the frequency converter in real time or perform remote timely control.

The ultimate goal is to use a frequency converter to control the working state of the water pump motor for pipeline pressure control, and to protect the water pump motor to a certain extent, as well as to save energy for multiple purposes.

<Three>How to maintain equipment and extend its service life?
The maintenance of variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment is very important. Many people do not do maintenance work when using variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment, which often leads to malfunctions.

Pump maintenance method:
1. Is there any looseness in the water pump pipeline and joint. Rotate the water pump of the variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment by hand to see if it is flexible.
2. Add bearing lubricating oil into the bearing body, and observe that the oil level should be at the centerline of the oil gauge. The lubricating oil should be replaced or replenished in a timely manner.
3. Change the water inlet plug of the pump body to inject water (or slurry).
4. Control the flow rate of the variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment pump within the range indicated on the label to ensure that the variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment pump operates at the highest efficiency point, in order to achieve the maximum energy-saving effect.
5. During the operation of the pump, the bearing temperature should not exceed 35 ℃ of the ambient temperature, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 80 ℃.

Motor maintenance method:
1. Check if the motor direction is correct.
2. After the water pump of the variable frequency constant pressure water supply equipment is running normally, open the outlet pressure gauge and the inlet vacuum pump to see if they display appropriate pressure, gradually open the gate valve, and check the motor load at the same time.
3. To stop using, first close the gate valve and pressure gauge, and then stop the motor.

Maintenance of pressure transmitter:
1. Regularly check whether the measuring hole of the pressure transmitter is blocked
2. Use a multimeter or signal generator to monitor whether the pressure signal is accurate
3. Regular calibration or replacement of equipment
4. The installation location should be far away from valves and water pumps
