The central processing unit (i.e. 4-CPU) of ST4 is a control board that manages the data generated by local modules and serves as a link for system level network communication. Real time data can be extracted from the local rail module, and data exchange and inter node communication within the module can be facilitated at a very high speed and efficiency, thereby achieving the above objectives.

4-CPU is essentially the event controller that reports on-site devices to modules; It is a controller for audio data; The gatekeeper of event logs; Security Guardian; And the link between it and the central monitoring facilities. The EST4 emergency communication platform is built on system nodes, with the 4-CPU serving as the node controller.

The hardware supporting 4-CPU operation is powerful enough to handle the complex and critical tasks assigned to 4-CPU. The 8Gb onboard memory capacity of 4-CPU can accommodate nearly two hours of pre recorded audio information, as well as a large-scale project database. The 4-CPU can also store a large onboard history (large enough to handle over 10000 alarm events), and the storage space can accommodate up to 10000 locked events for investigation.

With its self configuring network, EST4 nodes are easy to deploy and configure without the intervention of network administrators. It can adapt to various network configurations, including ring, star, redundant segments, and full mesh topologies. The 4-CPU can even support physical layer conversion from copper cables to fiber optics, and adopts hot swappable network connections. All of these can improve the reliability of the network and save installation costs and capital costs throughout the entire device lifecycle.
