Hydrolab is a new type of multi parameter, wide range water quality monitoring instrument that can be used for online and portable monitoring of water quality in different water bodies such as surface water, groundwater, source water, drinking water, sewage discharge outlets, and oceans. The monitoring parameters include dissolved oxygen, pH, ORP (oxidation-reduction potential), conductivity (salinity, total dissolved solids, resistance), temperature, depth, turbidity, chlorophyll-a, blue-green algae, rhodamine WT, ammonium/ammonia ions, nitrate ions, chloride ions, ambient light, and total dissolved gases, totaling fifteen parameters.
The monitoring of chlorophyll a and blue-green algae provided by Hydrolab adopts in vivo fluorescence method, which has outstanding advantages over traditional extraction method for measuring chlorophyll and manual counting method for measuring blue-green algae. It can save a lot of time and manpower, and can be used for online monitoring. Especially for the measurement of blue-green algae, it can serve as a warning for the proliferation of algae and protect the filtration facilities of water plants. At the same time, effective algae monitoring can be used to take timely measures to reduce algal toxins in drinking water.
Hydrolab's unique ambient light probe can provide measurements of light intensity at specific points in water. By measuring ambient light, it is possible to determine the biological communities that rely on photosynthesis to obtain nutrients, including phytoplankton (green algae or...) that promote photosynthesis
Can blue-green algae, certain diatoms, aquatic and large plants (those growing underwater or semi underwater) obtain sufficient light to sustain their survival. Environmental light probes can be applied in fields such as drinking water reservoir management, prevention and control of blue-green algae, and water environment research.
