The Heidenhain encoder provides all the necessary information for debugging, monitoring, and diagnosis. PWM detection equipment and PWT testing equipment are both specialized devices for analyzing encoders. The testing equipment is used to check the functionality of the encoder. PWT has fewer functions than PWM, has larger measurement tolerances, and cannot be calibrated. There are two types of diagnostic methods based on the different installation methods of the equipment:

• Encoder diagnosis:The encoder is directly connected to the testing or inspection equipment. Can comprehensively analyze the encoder function.
• Diagnosis in the control loop:The PWM phase measuring instrument is connected to the closed-loop control system (e.g. through appropriate testing adapter connectors). Therefore, it can diagnose machine tools or systems in real-time during operation. Its function is related to the interface.
