Operation method of Wechsler specific gravity scale:

1. The balance should be installed indoors at a normal temperature (about 20 ℃), and should not be heated or cooled in one direction. It should also be protected from air flow, vibration, strong magnetic sources, and installed on a sturdy workbench.

2. When using, first remove the various parts from the box in sequence. Wipe the temperature gauge of the measuring hammer elbow and the glass measuring cylinder clean with alcohol, then loosen the fixing screw of the pillar, and tighten the screw after raising the bracket to the appropriate height. The crossbeam is placed on the bracket agate knife holder. Hang an equal weight on the small hook at the right end of the crossbeam. Rotate the horizontal adjustment foot to align the pointer tips on the crossbeam with the pointer tips on the bracket, indicating balance. If the balance cannot be adjusted, first loosen the positioning screw on the balance adjuster, and then slightly rotate the balance adjuster until it reaches balance. Tighten the middle positioning screw again to prevent loosening.

3. Remove the equal weight and replace it with a complete set of measuring hammers. At this time, the balance state must be protected, but an error of 0.0005 is allowed.

After the installation of the balance, the position of each component should be checked for correctness. The installation can only be considered complete after the crossbeam swings normally.

Precautions for using instruments

1. The Wechsler specific gravity scale should be installed on a fixed flat operating platform to avoid the effects of heat, cold, airflow, and vibration.

2. The glass cylinder should be clean, and the height should be consistent when filling water and testing solution, so that the depth of the glass hammer sinking into the liquid surface is consistent before and after.

3. The glass hammer should be fully immersed in the liquid.
