German ADL power supply: analysis of core technical features and typical application scenarios

1、 Overview of Brand and Product System

ADL (Analog und Digitale Leistungselektronik GmbH) in Germany has been focusing on the research and production of industrial power supplies since 1992. Its products include DC power supplies, pulse generators, ion source power supplies, and other series, with power ranging from 0.5kW-140kW and voltage range suitable for various specifications such as 0-1000V. Following industrial universal standards, ADL provides stable power supply solutions for multiple industries, especially widely used in precision processes such as coating and semiconductor.

2、 Core technical features

(1) High precision output and wide range adaptation

ADL power supply has precise voltage, current, and power control capabilities, with an output accuracy of ± 1% of the rated value, which can meet the strict requirements of precision processes for power parameters. The product has a wide range of power coverage, from 0.5kW for small and medium power (GS 05 series) to 140kW for high power (HXD 1401 series), with voltage adaptability to various specifications such as 0-1000V DC. It can be continuously adjusted within the range of 0% -100% of rated parameters to meet the power needs of different loads. Some models support switching between three control modes: current, voltage, or power, which can flexibly meet the power requirements of different processes such as ion beam processing and sputtering coating.

(2) Intelligent control and convenient operation

The power supply is equipped with multi protocol industrial communication interfaces, including AS4, Profibus, EtherCat, RS232/485, etc., which can be seamlessly integrated into automated production lines or remote monitoring systems. It supports external analog (0-10V) or digital signal control, achieving full process automation regulation. The operation mode is flexible, providing dual options of manual operation on the front panel and external interface control. Some models can be equipped with a 3.5-digit digital display screen, which can monitor current, voltage, power and other parameters in real time. The knob style adjustment design is convenient for quickly setting parameters and reduces the operating threshold.

(3) Stable operation and reliable protection

Built in fully automatic arc processing algorithm, quenching time and delay time can be automatically adjusted within the range of 6 μ s-10ms, which can effectively suppress abnormal discharge during the process and ensure the stability of processes such as coating and ion implantation. Adopting a forced air cooling design, it can operate continuously for a long time at an ambient temperature of 40 ℃, with noise levels controlled within a reasonable range, meeting the environmental requirements of industrial workshops. Equipped with multiple protection functions for overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating, it automatically cuts off output and alarms when abnormalities are detected, avoiding equipment damage and process interruption; The metal shell and modular structure design have high mechanical strength and can withstand vibrations and impacts in industrial environments.

(4) Compact structure and easy maintenance

Adopting a modular architecture design, different functional modules can be combined according to customer needs to form customized power solutions. Compact exterior design, such as the GS series adopting a 1/19 inch slide in structure (3HU specification, 132.5 mm height), with a depth of only 560 mm, occupying a small installation space and making it easy to integrate into devices or racks with limited space. In terms of maintenance, the internal components have undergone strict screening, have a long service life, support remote diagnostic functions, and vulnerable parts (such as fans and interface modules) can be quickly replaced. Some models can still achieve low-cost maintenance through modular component replacement after 20 years of use.

GS series (DC power supply): The core technological highlight is high-precision ± 1% output, arc suppression function, and compact structure; The power/voltage range is 0.5-15kW, 800-1000V DC.

GX/GWW/HX series (medium to high power DC power supply): with modular combination, wide voltage adaptation, multiple protection and other technical highlights; The power/voltage range is 5-35kW, 250-1000V DC.

(1) Semiconductor and Microelectronics Field
