A life jacket is a type of life-saving clothing designed to resemble a vest, hence it is also known as a life vest. It is made of nylon fabric or NEOPRENE, buoyancy material or inflatable material, reflective material, etc. It is generally vest type, made of foam plastic or cork, etc., with a general service life of 5-7 years.

Classification: Life jackets are divided into the following four types according to common structural forms: 1) YB vest style life jackets; 2) YTD pullover single-sided life jacket; 3) YTL hooded life jacket with collar; 4) YTP pullover type ordinary life jacket.

Marking example: Tank top life jackets are marked as: Life jackets GB 4303-2008 YB; The hooded life jacket with collar is marked as: Life jacket GB 4303-2008 YTL.

Appearance requirements for life jackets:

1. The color of the life jacket cloth should be orange red.

2. Life jackets should be able to be worn on both sides without distinction. If it can only be worn on one side, it should be clearly indicated on the life jacket.

3. The fastening of life jackets should be in the form of fasteners.

4. The accessories of life jackets should not have sharp corners, burrs, or other defects that may cause injury to the wearer.

5. Life jackets should have a detachable float rope or other device for connecting and securing different life jackets in water.

6. Life jackets should have lifting devices or accessories for pulling the wearer out of the water onto a life raft or rescue boat.

The range of chest circumference suitable for life jackets should not be less than 700mm and not more than 1350mm.

When the wearer is in a state of static equilibrium in water, the outer surface of the life jacket for sleep or above should have a medium area of no less than 400cm2 for the reverse reflective tape.

　　Quality requirements for processing life jackets:

1. The inward folding of the seam edge of the life jacket bag should not be educated by 10mm.

The distance between the visible stitching of the life jacket and the edge should not be less than 3mm, and the stitching should not have any jumping needles.

3. The density of life jacket stitching should not be less than 20 stitches per 50mm length of cotton fabric and 16 stitches per 50mm length of synthetic fiber, and the ends of the stitching should be tied back.

4. The length of the end of the life jacket strap embedded in the cloth should not be less than 30mm. The strap should have at least 3 stitches.
