1、 Working principle
Energy accumulation stage
The pendulum is lifted to its initial height, at which point it has potential energy.
The sample is fixed in the upper and lower fixtures and pre cut in the middle to simulate the actual tear starting point.
Energy Conversion and Tearing Stage
Release the pendulum, and during its free fall, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy.
When the pendulum impacts the specimen, the kinetic energy is used to overcome the bonding force between the fabric fibers, causing the incision to expand in the predetermined direction.
After the tearing is completed, the pendulum continues to swing to the remaining height, and the remaining potential energy represents the energy that has not been consumed.
Data calculation and output
Calculate the energy consumed by tearing the specimen by measuring the difference between the initial height and the remaining height of the pendulum.
Convert to tear strength based on the mass of the pendulum, gravitational acceleration, and tear length.
