By maintaining tension on the spring components on the module components, the fire safety valve can be kept open. When a fire occurs, the connecting rod will separate when it reaches its rated temperature, releasing the spring component and allowing it to close the valve. After the thermal shut-off component is disconnected and closed, it can be manually operated through the handwheel.
