In scenarios involving flammable, explosive, toxic and harmful fluids such as petrochemicals, gas transportation, and storage tank areas, leaks in pipelines or equipment may cause major safety accidents such as fires, explosions, and poisoning. Hydraulic emergency shut-off valve, as a key safety control device, can quickly cut off fluid transportation in emergency situations, curb the expansion of danger from the source, and is an important component of industrial safety protection system.
Applicable scenarios: "security barriers" covering multiple industries
Hydraulic emergency shut-off valves, with their fast response and reliable sealing characteristics, are widely used in safety protection systems in multiple industries. The application characteristics in different scenarios are as follows:
Petrochemical industry:
Raw material transportation pipeline: Install hydraulic shut-off valves on pipelines transporting flammable liquids such as crude oil, gasoline, and ethanol. When the pipeline pressure is abnormal (such as overpressure or negative pressure) or leakage detection equipment alarms, the valves quickly close to prevent medium leakage from causing fires and explosions; ​
Reaction kettle feeding system: A hydraulic cut-off valve is installed on the feeding pipeline of the chemical reaction kettle. When the temperature and pressure inside the reaction kettle exceed the standard or an emergency situation occurs, the feeding is cut off to avoid reaction runaway. ​
Gas and new energy industry:
Natural gas transmission station: Install hydraulic shut-off valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines of long-distance natural gas pipelines and urban gas gate stations. When the gas leakage concentration exceeds the standard or the pipeline ruptures, the valves will be urgently closed to prevent gas diffusion; ​
Ethanol fuel refueling station: A hydraulic shut-off valve is installed on the discharge pipeline of the ethanol fuel storage tank and the connecting pipeline of the refueling machine. In case of leakage or emergency situation (such as fire) during the refueling process, the fuel supply is cut off to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. ​
Storage and tank farm industry:
Storage tank inlet and outlet pipelines: Install hydraulic shut-off valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines of flammable liquid storage tanks such as gasoline, ethanol, methanol, etc. When the tank level is abnormal (such as ultra-high or ultra-low) or a fire occurs in the tank area, the valves will close to prevent medium overflow or leakage; ​
Boundary of the fire dike in the tank area: Hydraulic cut-off valves are installed on the pipelines inside the fire dike in the tank area. When a single storage tank leaks, the pipeline connection between the tank and other areas is cut off to prevent the leakage range from expanding. ​
Water treatment and environmental protection industry:
Toxic and harmful liquid treatment: In sewage treatment plants and chemical wastewater treatment systems, hydraulic shut-off valves are installed on pipelines used to transport toxic and harmful liquids (such as heavy metal wastewater and chemical agents). When the treatment system malfunctions or leaks, the valves close to prevent toxic liquid leakage from polluting the environment; ​
Emergency drainage system: In urban flood control and industrial plant drainage systems, when the water level exceeds the warning value or an emergency situation occurs, the hydraulic cut-off valve can quickly close the drainage channel to prevent flood backflow or the spread of harmful substances.
