Today we are going to discuss the luminous efficiency of LED explosion-proof lights. Due to the special nature of LED explosion-proof lights, the transparent surface must reach a 4J impact force test. Our LED explosion-proof lights use 10MM thick tempered glass as the transparent accessory. Taking our RLB97 product as an example, before the glass cover, we used an integrating sphere to test it. There were 70 Corei 3535 light beads with a power of 120W and a luminous flux of about 120LM per W. After covering with 10MM tempered glass, the luminous efficiency was only about 95, and the loss of luminous efficiency was really significant. We tried thinner glass, and the luminous efficiency was improved, but the explosion-proof level could not reach it. We also compared it with our peers. The product has been tested and found to have lower light efficiency.
Why are we talking about such a thing today? Last time we supplied to a customer in Shenzhen, they were told that the customer required a light efficiency of 130LM/W. After our explanation, the customer understood and didn't say anything unnecessary. After we returned and communicated with the engineer, we found that the light efficiency could be improved, but we would lose some other things; For example, reducing the working current is sufficient, but your total luminous flux has decreased; To achieve the original luminous flux, you need to increase the number of LEDs again; The number of items has increased, and the cost has gone up again; In terms of cost, the product may not sell well; The product cannot be sold, and the light effect seems to have become meaningless again.
So the question is, how can we meet the requirements of our customers? We are also using various light distribution materials, such as lenses and PVC reflectors, which have been tested. The difference between lenses and PVC is that when tested with an integrating sphere, PVC has better light efficiency. However, when the product is installed at a height of more than 6 meters, the illumination of the lens will be better than that of PVC material. We are working hard every day to improve the product's efficiency and quality without increasing costs, which is indeed a bit difficult.
As long as customers demand quality and give us price space, we can definitely produce products that satisfy you, but with low price requirements and high product requirements, it's not easy to do.
