Shui Mi Wan was created by a large number of pharmacists after liberation based on the principle of making Shui Fan Wan. This method is simpler and more efficient than manual molding, and the pellets are small, smooth, and round, making them easy to swallow. This method uses honey rich in nutrients, refined with water as a binder, and saves honey, reduces costs, and is easy to store. So those who use tonics to make small honey pills often use honey water as a binder to make water honey pills. At present, the application is more common, especially in provinces with wetter climates in the south, where there are more producers of water honey pills.

1. Meaning: It is a small spherical pill made by mixing fine powder of medicinal herbs with honey water as a binder.
2. Features: Simple compared to manual molding, high production efficiency, small and smooth pellets, easy to swallow; Using nutritious honey and refining it with water as a binder, it saves honey, reduces costs, and is easy to store.
The ratio of medicinal powder to honey
Only when the honey water concentration of the pan pill is suitable for the properties of the medicinal powder, can qualified water honey pills be produced.
Generally, the properties of fine powder of medicinal herbs are moderate. For every 100g of fine powder, 30g of honey is used, and the amount of water added is 1:3, which is three times the amount of water added after honey refining. Stir well, boil and filter.
For fine powder of medicinal herbs with high sugar, mucilage, and gelatinous content, low concentration honey water should be used as the binder, that is, 100g of medicinal powder should be mixed with 10-15g of refined honey, an appropriate amount of water should be added, stirred well, boiled and filtered to form the binder.
For fine powder of medicinal herbs containing fiber and minerals, 40-50g of honey should be used for every 100g of powder, mixed with an appropriate amount of water, boiled and filtered to form a binder. The dosage of honey water and medicinal powder is basically the same as that of Shui Fan Wan.
manufacturing process
The method of pan pill is the same as that of water pan pill, but cold water must be used during molding to avoid adhesion. When pan pill is formed, use low concentration honey water to increase the size first. Due to the high concentration of honey water in small particles, it is easy to stick. When it has already been formed, use high concentration honey water. After it has been formed, switch to low concentration honey water to polish it. The empirical rule is that the concentration of honey water is low, high, and low. When used alternately in this way, the resulting water honey pills can ensure that the pills are smooth and round.
The water honey pills formed by pan molding should be dried in a timely manner, as they are diluted with honey and water to form a binder. The resulting pills have a high moisture content and must be dried to ensure that the moisture content does not exceed 12%; Otherwise, it is prone to mold and deterioration.
How to use honey to make pills
1. Purchase medicinal products from the pharmacyChinese medicine grinderMake it into powder
2. Honey refining: Honey often contains small amounts of beeswax, microorganisms, and enzymes, as well as bees and dust. Therefore, honey must be refined before it can be used. The method is to first place honey in a pot, add 1/3-1/2 of clean water, heat and slowly boil, remove any foam from the honey surface, and filter out bee carcasses and impurities using a sieve or gauze. Filter the honey and heat it over high heat in a pot until it boils and forms fish eye bubbles. Twist it by hand to make it slightly sticky and brushed. Measure the water content using a sugar meter to determine it to be about 18% -20%. Quickly remove from the pot and let it cool for later use.
3. Place the medicinal herbs in a pot and stir fry over low heat until the color deepens. Then add a certain amount of honey and quickly stir to mix well with the herbs. Stir fry until it is no longer sticky, then take it out and let it warm to make pills.
4. The usual ratio of medicinal herbs to refining is 4:1; Pills are usually made into large wutong seeds for taking; After making pills, they must be cooled and stored tightly to prevent the pills from absorbing moisture, becoming sticky, or deteriorating; When stir frying medicinal herbs with honey, it is generally done over low heat to prevent the herbs from coking.
