The instrument adopts the principle of ultraviolet fluorescence measurement: after the sample to be tested is introduced into a high-temperature cracking furnace, at a high temperature of about 1000 ℃, the sample is completely vaporized and undergoes oxidative cracking, and the sulfides in it are quantitatively converted into sulfur dioxide. The reaction gas is carried by the carrier gas, and after passing through a membrane dryer to remove its moisture, it enters the reaction chamber. Sulfur dioxide is exposed to ultraviolet radiation of a specific wavelength, which absorbs the radiation and causes some electrons to shift to high-energy orbitals. When the electrons return to their original orbitals, excess energy is released in the form of light and detected by a photoelectric multiplier tube at a specific wavelength. The emitted fluorescence is completely specific to sulfur and proportional to the sulfur content in the original sample. After amplification by a microcurrent amplifier and computer data processing, it can be converted into an electrical signal proportional to the intensity of light. By measuring its size, the sulfur content of the corresponding sample can be calculated.
