The stable isotope method is an important research tool in various disciplines such as atmosphere, hydrology, and ecology. The determination of stable isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen in soil and plant water is widely used in the separation of plant transpiration and evapotranspiration, root water use efficiency, and the mechanisms of plant water transport and absorption. The traditional methods for extracting plant and soil moisture mainly include low-temperature online distillation and azeotropic distillation. The low-temperature distillation method is currently the more commonly used method for water extraction, but it requires the addition of liquid nitrogen during the operation, which is cumbersome and the glass components are vulnerable. The azeotropic distillation method requires the addition of expensive solvents such as toluene or xylene, which are not only harmful to the body but also pollute the environment. With the development of isotope analysis technology, the measurement speed of water isotopes is getting faster and faster, and the existing water extraction methods can no longer meet the needs of users. Therefore, having a set of fully automatic plant and soil moisture extraction equipment that is easy to operate and fast to extract is an urgent requirement for current water isotope research work.
working principle:This device adopts the principle of ultra-low pressure vacuum distillation freezing, which heats and distills the moisture in the sample in an ultra-low pressure environment, condenses and collects it in a low-temperature environment, thereby achieving the extraction of moisture without fractionation. The system mainly consists of an ultra-low pressure system, a heating system, a refrigeration system, and a control system. The entire process is automatically completed under the monitoring of the control system.
