The Instron 5980 universal testing machine's floor standing material testing system is sturdy and durable, capable of meeting flexible testing needs. The standard design and options can greatly improve the efficiency and operational experience of operators The 5980 floor standing model has a sturdy and durable frame structure, which can well meet the material testing of various alloys, composite materials, aerospace and automotive structures, bolts, fasteners and steel plates. The rack load capacity is available in 100, 150, 250, 400, and 600 kN, and some options can meet special travel and testing space requirements. The key advantage of the 5980 floor standing material testing system is the frame stiffness, which is very suitable for testing high-strength materials such as aerospace composite materials, metal alloys, and lens polymers.

The high stiffness and centering provided by guiding and preloading bearings can provide more accurate modulus and strain values, and reduce energy storage. An easily accessible testing area is very important for operators. When testing large volume metal tests, fasteners, or composite components, operators often have to struggle to reach the bottom of the large frame to install the specimens - especially when the volume of fixtures or fixtures is also large. The 400 and 600 kN frame designs have relatively low bases for operators to install fixtures and fixtures, thereby reducing the need for manual support of heavy specimens.
