Overview
The on-site tester for surge protectors (SPDs) can pre-set the measurement range and emit sound prompts for exceeding the range during the measurement process, which is suitable for device grouping and inspection discrimination.
Product Details

On site testing instrument for surge protection device (SPD)Used for measuring the DC parameters of overvoltage protection components such as lightning arresters, surge protectors, varistors, metal ceramic discharge tubes, and DC/AC surge protectors.

Product Features:

1. It has high-voltage short-circuit protection, overcurrent protection, high-voltage preset, range adjustment, self checking function, and sound prompt function.

2. Choosing continuous measurement allows for uninterrupted testing of batch samples.

3. Equipped with rechargeable high-capacity lithium batteries, it can be used offline.

4. Easy to operate, lightweight, and convenient to carry.

On site testing instrument for surge protection device (SPD)Usage:

4.1 Testing Varistors with the "Auto" Position

4.1.1 Turn on the power and set the "Test Selection" button on the panel to the "Varistor" position; Set the "U0.75 Select" button to the "Auto" position and the panel "Display Switch" switch to the "Voltage" position.

4.1.2 Connect the test wire of the tested varistor to the "+" and "-" terminals of the "test hole", lightly touch the high-voltage "start" button, and the instrument will display the starting action voltage U1mA value. Then press and hold the "leakage current" button, and the instrument will display a voltage value of 0.75U1mA. If the panel "display switch" is set to the "current" position at the same time, the instrument will display a value of I 0.75U and 1mA; Release the "leakage current" button, and the instrument will display a current of approximately 1mA flowing through the tested varistor.

4.1.3 Gently touch the high-voltage "stop" button and remove the tested varistor.

4.2 Testing Varistors with "Manual" Position

4.2.1 Set the "Test Selection" button to the "Varistor" position; Set the "U0.75 Select" button to the "Manual" position; Set the "Display Switching" switch to the "Voltage" position, turn on the power supply and high voltage, adjust the "High Voltage Preset" knob, make the preset high voltage value of the instrument more than 1.2 times higher than the nominal value of the varistor to be tested, and turn off the high voltage; Connect the tested varistor and start/stop high voltage at this time. Multiple similar tested varistors can be continuously tested with a single U1mA indicator.

4.2.2 Calculate the value of 0.75U1mA based on the measured U1mA value of the varistor. Adjust the preset voltage of the instrument to this value, and then set the "display switch" to the "current" position. At this time, do not turn off the high voltage. Press and hold the "leakage current" button, and connect the tested varistor with the same U1mA value for continuous testing of I 0.75U, 1mA single indicator.
