The VPF-710 digital visibility sensor has been used for precise measurement of visibility for over 20 years. It is compact, sturdy, and has been tested for long-term operation, making it suitable for operation in extremely harsh environments.

Measuring principle

VPF-710 utilizes forward scattering technology to measure visibility 24/7. The sensor calculates the EXCO atmospheric extinction coefficient by measuring small suspended particles (fog, mist, smoke) and large particles (rain, snow, ice particles, drizzle), and then derives the MOR meteorological optical vision and visibility from EXCO.

data output

The sensor uses RS232C as the standard signal output, and the data output is in the form of ASCII characters. The sensor can be set to automatic data output or polling output mode, and the data can be transmitted to the computer in compressed or expanded form.

Maintenance, calibration, and automatic detection

The sensor has undergone comprehensive calibration before leaving the factory. During normal maintenance, only one person needs to calibrate and check the sensor within a few minutes. The working status of the sensor is obtained through automatic detection function.

Optional options:

RS-422 Communication - A 12 meter long RS-422 communication cable can be used between sensors and control computers.

Heating version - The sensor contains a window defogger, which allows the sensor to be used in environments below -3 ℃. However, when the temperature at the measurement location needs to remain below -3 ℃ for several hours every day, a heated version of the sensor should be used, so that it can be used in an environment of -50 ℃ without any errors.

● Environmental light sensor - designed for airport RCR (aircraft ramp runway line of sight) system based on ICAO measurement of environmental light.

Meteorological Station - Provides 3 analog inputs (0-10V), uses VPE-710 as the meteorological station, and outputs a single time-dependent data string.

Attachment options:

Calibration Tool - Recommended for end-users to recalibrate and check the reliability coefficient of sensors. The tool includes a future transport box, zero plug, a calibration disk, and a special EXCO value. One set of tools can accommodate multiple sensors with the same measurement range.

Stainless steel installation bracket - including U-bolts, fasteners, and adjustable installation tools, ensuring that the sensor can be installed on any bracket within the diameter range of 45-75mm.

● Transport case - contains 3 inches of foam protective material to ensure that the sensor can be fixed in place. Self checking and monitoring system.

By using self checking software, remote monitoring of the sensor's condition and performance can be achieved through visual inspection, which can monitor:
