Pulsar Process DFM 6.1 Flow Meter
The Pulsar-ProcessDFM6.1 series clamp type flowmeter has a wide range of applications in the industrial industry, especially in handling complex liquid media and harsh environments.
Pulsar Process's DFM6.1 Doppler flowmeter as a non-contact clamp type flowmeterIt can effectively measure the flow rate of clamped pipelines from the outside of the pipeline. Its Doppler technology makes it very suitable for use as a water flow meter, especially for handling difficult to treat liquids or liquids containing suspended solids, such as wastewater, slurries, sludge, chemicals, viscous liquids, and abrasives. The non-invasive Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter can be installed on pipelines with a diameter of 12.5 millimeters (0.5 inches) or larger, and clamped on the outside of the pipeline to obtain flow measurement readings without interrupting the process.

External sensors - contactless, no maintenance
The DFM6.1 Doppler flowmeter is highly suitable for whole pipes and any liquid containing bubbles or suspended solids. To measure speed, moving particles or bubbles suspended in the fluid are reflected onto the sensor. The flow rate is calculated based on the internal diameter of the configured pipeline.
Installation is very simple - there is no need to shut down the streamline system. It will not come into contact with flowing fluids and does not require cutting or drilling. There is no accumulation of dirt or scale on the sensor.
The DFM6.1 Doppler flowmeter from Pulsar Process adopts an easy-to-use 5-key configuration system, making installation quick, easy, and convenient. The device is equipped with a large digital flow display and counter, isolated 4-20mA output, 26 million point data logger, and two programmable control relays.
The DFM6.1 Doppler flowmeter of Pulsar Process measures bidirectional flow and displays positive and negative values. You can control the total to subtract the reverse traffic, or only sum the forward traffic.
Use Doppler pipeline flow measurement equipment to control the flow rate within the process, protect the pump from the use of no flow or dry pumps, or for flow proportional use. You can even use it to test existing equipment to ensure that pipeline flow measurement remains accurate.
1、 Technical advantages
Doppler technology core
By measuring the ultrasonic frequency shift reflected by solid particles or bubbles, the flow rate can be calculated, which is suitable for "difficult liquids" (such as media with solid content>75ppm and particles ≥ 100 microns).
The accuracy reaches ± 2% of the reading or ± 0.03 meters/second (whichever is greater), the repeatability is ± 0.1%, and the linearity is ± 0.5%.
Non contact installation
Quick deployment: No need to cut pipes or shut down, clamp type sensors can be directly installed on the outside of pipes, supporting pipes with inner diameters ranging from 12.7 millimeters to 4.5 meters.
Compatibility: Suitable for pipes made of various materials such as metal, plastic, concrete, etc.
Strong anti-interference ability
Signal processing technology filters out background noise and adapts to high noise industrial environments such as pump stations and mixing tanks.
IP67 protection level shell, waterproof and dustproof, suitable for outdoor or harsh working conditions.
Multi-functional integration
Data recording: Built in 12 million point data logger, supports USB output and Windows software analysis.
Output options: isolated 4-20mA output, 0-5VDC output, Modbus RTU or HART protocol for easy integration with control systems.
Control relays: 2 programmable relays for flow alarm or proportional pulse control.
low-power design
Built in rechargeable lithium polymer battery, capable of continuous operation for up to 15 hours; Low power mode extends battery life and supports long-term data recording on site without power supply.

2、 Application core advantages and implementation points
Core strengths
Non invasive external clamp installation: No need for interruption/opening, suitable for most industrial pipes, no medium contact, zero maintenance probe, avoiding blockage/corrosion/pollution.
Complex fluid adaptation: Doppler technology is designed specifically for fluids containing solids/bubbles, with a measurement accuracy of ± 2% reading or 0.03m/s, for bidirectional flow measurement and accumulation.
Industrial Internet: Supports 4-20mA analog and Modbus RTU communication, with a built-in 26 million point data logger, suitable for automation and traceability needs.
Key points for implementation
Fluid conditions: Must contain ≥ 100 μ m solids/bubbles with a concentration of ≥ 75ppm, otherwise weak signal will affect accuracy.
Pipeline requirements: operate at full capacity, avoid flow disturbance sections such as bends/valves/pump outlets, and ensure continuous sound transmission of the pipe material (avoid loose lining).
Installation specifications: The probe should be attached to the pipeline, and the coupling agent should have no bubbles to ensure stable signal transmission.
