Product Details

Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are one-dimensional tubular nanomaterials formed by curling a single layer of graphene, typically with a diameter of 0.4-3 nm and a length of several micrometers or even centimeters. Its structure is similar to a honeycomb shaped cylinder composed of a carbon six membered ring (benzene ring), with both ends typically sealed by fullerene (such as C ₆₀) hemispheres.

At present, the main production method in industrial production is chemical vapor deposition (CVD)

Principle: Hydrocarbons (such as methane and ethylene) decompose on the surface of metal catalysts (Fe, Co, Ni, etc.), and carbon atoms grow into SWCNTs on the substrate.

Floating catalyst CVD: Catalyst precursors (such as ferrocene) react with carbon sources (such as ethanol or methane) in the gas phase.

Advantages: Strong controllability, suitable for large-scale production, and directional growth.
