The working principle is as follows:
1. Generation of photoelectric signals
The encoder is equipped with a rotating grating disk with engraved lines, and the bright and dark stripes on the disk generate intermittent light signals under the illumination of LED light source. The photoelectric receiver converts the optical signal into two orthogonal square waves A and B and a zero position pulse Z. The phase difference between A and B is 90 °, which can be used to determine the direction of rotation; The Z pulse appears once every revolution as a mechanical zero position reference.
2. Signal processing and interpolation
The 828-5048 output interface supports two formats: 1 Vpp (sine/cosine difference) and RS-422/TTL.
For a 1 Vpp analog signal, the accompanying Irinos measurement box can provide up to 200 times electronic subdivision, amplifying the original line density by 200 times to achieve sub micron resolution.
For TTL/RS-422 digital signals, the internal Schmitt trigger and digital filter ensure jitter<1 µ s within a bandwidth of 0-300 kHz.
3. Error detection and synchronization
Real time monitoring: Internal comparator continuously monitors amplitude, phase, and signal symmetry; Once a circuit break, short circuit, or amplitude drop is detected, the hardware fault position is immediately set and the panel LED reports an error.
Synchronous sampling: In cascade mode, up to 32 encoders can share the same sampling clock through the XSync bus, ensuring a synchronization error of<1 µ s for multi axis systems.
4. Data output and interface
Differential Drive: The RS-422 line driver can maintain signal integrity at the end of a 100 meter cable (typical 5V differential, compliant with EIA-422 standard).
Zero position programmable: The electrical position of Z pulse can be offset within ± 90 ° range through software, making it convenient for mechanical installation and compensation.
Power protection: 7-30 VDC wide voltage input, with reverse connection, surge and short circuit protection, meeting the requirements of 24V industrial sites.
5. Mechanical and Thermal Design
Bearings and code discs: Equipped with ABEC-5 grade bearings and a 0.1 mm thick stainless steel code disc, it can maintain a radial runout of<0.02 mm under continuous operation at 6000 rpm, with a working temperature of -20...+85 ° C.
Sealing grade: IP65 aluminum alloy shell with labyrinth shaft seal, allowing long-term operation in machine tool environments containing coolant.
